Size Guide

Letter sizes and US numeric sizes

Our dresses arrive in two sizing systems, and this table is how they line up.

Letter size US numeric sizes How to check
XXS 0–4 Take your usual US dress size; if you sit at 0 or 2, start here.
XS 2–6 Choose XS if you normally buy a US 4 and prefer a close fit.
S 4–8 Choose S if you normally buy a US 6, or a US 4 with room to spare.
M 6–10 Choose M if you normally buy a US 8.
L 8–12 Choose L if you normally buy a US 10.
XL 10–14 Choose XL if you normally buy a US 12.
XXL 12–16 Choose XXL if you normally buy a US 14 or 16.

Where a piece is listed in a combined size such as XS/S or M/L, it is cut to fit either of the two letters, usually because the fabric stretches.

How to measure yourself

Measure over your underwear with a soft tape, standing straight, and keep the tape level all the way round.

Measurement How to measure
Bust Run the tape around the fullest part of the bust, keeping it level under the arms.
Waist Measure the narrowest part of the torso, usually just above the navel, without pulling tight.
Hips Measure the fullest part of the hips, roughly eight inches below the waist.
Shoulder to hem Measure from the top of the shoulder straight down to where you want the dress to end.

Which size to order

If you fall between two sizes, order the larger one — a dress that is slightly loose can be worn, and one that is slightly tight cannot.

Ribbed knit and shirred pieces stretch and forgive a size either way. Woven, satin and boned pieces do not, so take the numeric range in the table above literally on those. If you are unsure, email support@minimaxstores.com with the piece and the size you usually wear.

If the size is wrong

Returns stay open for 30 days from delivery, on unused dresses in their original packaging.

Return shipping is paid by the customer unless the item arrived damaged, faulty or incorrect. There is no restocking fee.
