Velvet is the reason to own the Quinnie. It is a black midi dress with a square neckline and short sleeves, and its surface does more than its cut does.
The neckline sits square across the bust, and the short sleeves finish in elasticised cuffs. At the back there is a shirred panel that stretches, a white tie close detail, and an invisible zip with a hook and eye clasp underneath it. A split at the front opens the hem. The soft velvet feel runs throughout, and the dress is lined in 100% polyester.
Velvet changes with the light, which makes this a dress for evenings and for rooms with lamps rather than daylight. A square neck likes a plain chain or nothing. Keep the shoe matte, since the fabric already has the sheen, and let the back tie do the detail work from behind.
